Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher until mostly broken down.
  2. Add breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  3. Form the mixture into two burger patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat or preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Cook burgers for about 5-7 minutes per side, until heated through and slightly browned.
  6. Serve on buns with your favorite toppings.
