Description

A simple and delicious spaghetti sauce made from fresh, ripe tomatoes, capturing the authentic taste of Italian cooking.


Ingredients

  • 2 kg ripe tomatoes
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash and roughly chop the fresh tomatoes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes, oregano, and basil to the pot.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  7. For a smoother sauce, you can use an immersion blender or pass the sauce through a food mill.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Serve hot over your favorite pasta.
