Description

Easy and healthy homemade pumpkin dog treats recipe with peanut butter and oats. Perfect for a fall snack or a special occasion for your furry friend.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (xylitol-free)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and peanut butter. Mix well.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  4. Stir in the cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, mixing until a stiff dough forms.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
  8. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and firm.
  10. Let the treats cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

  • Ensure the peanut butter is xylitol-free, as xylitol is toxic to dogs.
  • Store treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze for longer storage.
  • You can substitute whole wheat flour with oat flour or almond flour for a grain-free option.
