Description
Make rich, fudgy brownies from scratch with this easy recipe. You don’t need any special equipment, just a few simple ingredients and one bowl.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir well.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs, not wet batter.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting.
Notes
- For an even richer flavor, use high-quality cocoa powder.
- Adjust baking time based on your oven. A slightly underbaked brownie will be fudgier.
- Feel free to add nuts or other mix-ins like sprinkles.
- Ensure your ingredients are at room temperature for best results.
