- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa powder. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
- Boil for exactly 1 minute, then remove from heat.
- Stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add rolled oats and mix well until all oats are coated.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto wax paper-lined baking sheets.
- Let the cookies cool completely and set, about 30 minutes.
Notes
- For a firmer cookie, boil the sugar mixture for 1.5 minutes.
- Add chocolate chips or chopped nuts for extra flavor and texture.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
