Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the pumpkin puree and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the loaf cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Ensure pumpkin puree is not pumpkin pie filling.
- Add a streusel topping for extra texture.
- Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
