- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained

- 1 (10 oz) can tomato soup
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain off any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
- Add the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato soup, chili powder, and cumin. Stir to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 20 minutes, or until flavors have melded. Stir occasionally.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, with your favorite toppings.

- For a vegetarian version, substitute lentils or plant-based ground for the beef.
