Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chilies, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes with green chilies, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add cooked elbow macaroni to the skillet and stir to combine.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
  6. Serve hot.
